Roberto Badoglio was born December, 15, 1984 in Trieste, Italy . He started the musical experience at the age of eight with the studio of the piano in a local music school. At the age of twelve he started studying bass guitar with private teachers . From 1997 to 2002 he’s been bass player and lead vocalist in the “progressive rock” band “Alteration”. The Band won a string of national contests as “Pagella Rock “ 2001, “Music Festival” 1999, and Rosa Rock 2000. Starting from the year 2000 he started performing and recording increasingly more often in north –eastern Italian jazz-funk bands as the “metropolitan jazz quartet” and the “s.vito tagl. jazz big band”.Individually, he won the regional competition “bass contest”of north –eastern italy in the years 2000 and 2002. In the 2003 he has been a finalist in the contest of the “Europeanbassday”. In January 2003 he took several private lessons with Matthew Garrison in New York and after that with Dominique Di Piazza in France . He’s been a student of the “Trieste Jazz Accademy “ from the year 2003 to the year 2005. In 2005 he moved to Boston where he performed in the Berklee ensemble of famous pianist Joanne Brackeen and the ensemble of the trumpet player George Zonce . In 2005-2006 he took private lessons with trombonist Hal Crook, the bassist Skuli Sverrison and again with Matthew Garrison. In spring of 2006 he formed the fusion band “Oddflow” with guitarist Hara Garacci and drummer Luis Cato. They recorded the first album "almost even" in summer 2006. Roberto is currently living between USA and Italy, and he is working on his first solo project that will be released in 2007. He is also playing in the sperimental trio “Low Kick” with bassist and friend Enrico Pasini, a trio with two basses and drums. Roberto is an endorser of Wood&Tronics bass guitars.
